 Brief Introduction of Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs

Approved by the Hubei Provincial Government to establish in 2002, and registered in the State Ministry of Education, Wuhan College of Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs
, is a private vocational college specialized in the education and development of intermediate and senior talents in the foreign languages and foreign affairs fields.

Located near the East Lake, at the foot of Mount Mo, and in the middle of the Luoyan Resort, Wuhan Foreign Languages and Foreign Affairs College, which is bounded by Wuhan Railway Station under construction in the east, the mist-veiled East Lake in the west, the picturesque Mount Mo in the south and Youyi Avenue with heavy traffic in the north, is an ideal place for students to study with its graceful environment and beautiful scenery.

The campus covers an area of 860 mu and will cover 1200 mu with the completion of the construction. The first three phases of the investment, nearly 500 million yuan, include the 400- thousand-square meter construction of such good studying and living facilities as teaching buildings, a stadium, a library, laboratories, standardized student dormitories, Teacher’s Dormitories, and a supermarket. The college has set up modern Campus Broadband Networking, a Radio Station and an English Teaching and Learning Broadcasting Station.

College has seven Department within twenty-three majors, which are close to market demand and have great employment prospects. Among them, “Tourist English” is determined by Wuhan Municipal Bureau of Education as emphasis majors among professional colleges and universities in Wuhan.

Currently there are more than 5300 students, enrolled from all over the country.

The college is enhancing the qualifications of teaching staff and has already formed faculty of both full time and part time teachers with the reasonable age and experience structure. 35 percents of all the 287 teachers are associate professors or above. 13 full time foreign teachers from the US, Australia, New Zealand, France, Japan Sweden, Switzerland and Italy enhance the language teaching and embody the educational features of the college. The percentage of passing the examination of College English Test is on top among similar institutions in Hubei Province and the employment rate of graduates is over 90%.

The current international collaboration with British, French and Canadian universities and colleges enables qualified graduates to further their studies overseas to get a Bachelor or even a Master’s degree.
